I liked: Fantastic location ,short drive to local towns and walks from the door. The Old Sunday School has been tastefully converted and the decor is modern and furnishings comfy. The heating was also good and added to the cosy feel of the property. The views were stunning and the surrounding graveyard just added to the historic ambience of the Old Sunday School. Parking was no problem despite being on a single track road ,we were able to park right opposite in the "passing" space still leaving lots of room for other vehicles .A great stay . I did not like: This isn't a dislike as it was fine for us . The second bedroom is more appropriate for children as the ceiling is very low . My head touched the ceiling and I'm 5 foot! I liked: This Airbnb was great! Clean, furnished, and with all the amenities. It comfterbly slept 6 adults. The location was outstanding for a vacation. The location was quiet and welcoming. The Train station is a block away, and is only 1 stop (15-20 minutes maybe) from downtown Glasgow. A little further than the train station is a large park that even has a museum in it. On the other side of the neighborhood you can find a grocery store within short walking distance. And about a mile away there is a part of town near Queen's park with many local places to eat and drink. What you see listed here advertised is what you get and I highly recommend. I did not like: Only small downside I could find was there are no ground level bedrooms. If you have someone elderly that might be something to take into consideration. But we still did fine. I liked: We liked the parking space around the corner. The water pressure of the shower was surprisingly good but the low quality shower head and the lack of an actual shower curtain (despite having a curtain rail above the shower) meant one couldn’t enjoy aforementioned water pressure. We liked the fact there was a working dishwasher; washing machine with drying function and fridge/freezer. The double bed in the bedroom was comfy (if too soft, for my liking), the duvet and the pillows were good quality and the open window towards the back allowed birdsong drifting in in the morning. The hair dryer provided in the flat was excellent and dried my hair way faster than my own (which I had brought). The fish&chips shop 2 doors down had excellent fish and calamari. I did not like: The listing stated “a coffee machine” as one of the available appliances but there was only a kettle, a microwave and a toaster. Due to that terrible omission, we got ourselves a little Tassimo machine to be able to have a decent cup of coffee in the morning. Upon our arrival, we noticed that 1 of the 2 bedside lamps was broken and equally that the light in the fridge didn’t work AND later, the integrated lamp above the stove also stopped working. We dutifully reported as much. The property management company said they would send out “associates“ the next morning to “review the issues” (for whom we waited bc apparently, we had the only available key to the property) but to our surprise, they proved unable to resolve either of these 3 faults. It would’ve been nice to see what’s in the fridge or on the stove cooking but… We also didn’t like the fact that there was no shower curtain. The fact we were provided with just ONE thin bathroom floor towel (not rug) to put on the floor paired with the lack of a shower curtain, everyone taking a shower inadvertently and unavoidably drenched the toilet, the sink and the bathroom floor with droplets of water. As a result, we had to use the provided towels to clean the entire bathroom surfaces twice a day. I also would’ve liked a rug in front of either side of the bed. Just to step on sth that isn’t icy cold floor first thing in the morning. The additional bed in the living room is flimsy and didn’t feel sturdy even due my very thin teenage daughter just to sit on. Others have commented similar before. That needs replacing. The kettle was/is in dire need of descaling and the toaster needed a deep clean too. So did some of the pots which had food remains left sticking at the bottom. We had to clean them all before using either. Summary: Pleasant enough for 3days. I liked: A lovely renovation with a garden lit by the morning sun and surrounded by woodland full of birdsong. We enjoyed the comfy sofas and the log burner. Main bedroom spacious and well appointed. Beds comfortable. Kitchen had all the appliances and utensils we needed. I did not like: The bunk bed ( which we fortunately didn’t need to use), would be unsuitable for an adult and also unsafe for a young child.. We appreciated the skill of the big painting of the child’s face but felt it was rather spooky and out of place in the dining room which also smelled rather damp so we didn’t go in there. I liked: Location super handy to train & town centre, all the shops & sights. Apartment (40D), was clean, fresh looking & had everything I needed, including very nice Colombian coffee bags. Really like how there was not only a little dining table but comfy bar stool seating as well. Very comfortable bed & great shower. Communication with host/team was great, very easy to understand information about the property & very responsive to any questions I had. The little back deck is nice as well. I liked: The town was within walking distance and was stunning. We loved the welcome book (it was extensive), it made our stay easier and great suggestions on places to eat and visit. The Host has excellent attention to detail, as the apartment had everything that you could need and more. I did not like: Bedrooms too small for bedside tables. Downstairs bathroom not easy for older people at night but it was just at the bottom of the stairs. Appeared to be no heating in the bathroom. I liked: This is a very comfortable and stylish cottage within walking distance of all Bakewell has to offer, pubs, restaurants, gift shops, clothing shops, cafes, supermarkets , hiking and river walks etc. It's very well equipped and peaceful despite it's town centre location. The log fire was cosy in the evening, and the seating was very comfortable. It was nice to relax in the bath after a day in the hills. The downstairs toilet is handy. I did not like: The only things we didn't like were the added prerequisite to submit photo ID and pay either a 500 pound deposit or a 40 pound damage waiver on top of the cost of the rental price.
